Following two interactions with kids at New York museums, I couldn't help but wonder on my walk home, how do adults manage to always complicate things in life? Aren't we supposed to be smarter and more self-aware than grade-schoolers?

Smith returns home to launch "The Pool"
Milwaukeeans all know Mark Borchardt as the face of "American Movie," but director Chris Smith isn't quite as high profile, even here at home. Unless, that is, you're passionate about film and especially home-grown filmmakers. Most recently, Smith wrote the screenplay for and directed "The Pool," filmed in India. It begins a week-long Milwaukee run on Friday.
