Sherman Park resident Frank Finch III and a crowd of Common Ground supporters climbed the stairs of City Hall Wednesday morning to deliver the signatures of 460 residents to the office of District 7 Ald. Willie Wade. The petition, according to a report from Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service, urged Wade "to deal with the blighted conditions of the homes in his district" before supporting public funding for a new Milwaukee Bucks arena.

The state budget needs to be passed by July 1, and that is the deadline for any plan to provide public funding for the new Milwaukee Arena. The legislature faces lots of tough decisions between now and then and funding for the arena is in the mix of all those decisions.
