Venturi's Market preps homestyle meals at family style prices
Opening 12 years ago and expanding into a second storefront three years later, Venturi's Market is tucked away on the 7200 block of W. North Avenue, sandwiched by Snap Fitness and Chinese Pagoda restaurant. The café and deli originally opened with Italian flavors in mind but over the years, they've expanded to carry fresh meats and cheeses, specialty canned and packaged goods along with made-from scratch deli items of all sorts.

"Ninja-style" vandals strike near Farwell and North
A group of about 20 to 30 vandals, dressed in black and wearing masks, committed multiple acts of vandalism just after 11 p.m. last night. The group, which some witnesses described as "looking like ninjas," damaged the windows of several businesses and vehicles near the East Side intersection of Farwell and North Avenues, threw barricades into the street and set off smoke bombs.

Last year Paddy's Pub took the cake, but this year it seems tastes have change, as the readers of OnMilwaukee.com chose Hooligan's Super Bar as their favorite bar on or near North Avenue. Hooligan's is a great corner bar and an even better place to watch a game or play trivia.
