Absinthe refreshes some, but leaves sanity intact
Legendary is the allure of absinthe, and the Green Fairy cast its spell on everyone from painter Vincent van Gogh to author Oscar Wilde to composer Erik Satie and many of their 19th and early 20th century contemporaries. And we just gave it a taste test.

Wilde didn't impress Milwaukee much
Milwaukeeans looking to enjoy a Sunday night out had a few options on March 5, 1882. One of them was attending a lecture by young Irish writer Oscar Wilde. Had you chosen that one, you'd have been among a small crowd that paid up to $1 to hear Wilde speak.
