Gig roundup: Chelsea Hotel sets perfect scene for Fever Marlene
Leave it to Fever Marlene, perhaps Milwaukee's best band at the moment, to take an unusual approach to its second disc. If fans expect "White China," which is officially released next week, to be more of the same, they will be sorely disappointed.

Improved acoustics make Polyphonic Spree's return ever more grandiose
When I last saw the nearly indescribable Polyphonic Spree at The Rave in July, my only complaint was the sub par acoustics at that particular venue. That wasn't a problem Thursday night, when the flamboyant 22-piece band returned to the beautiful Pabst Theater, a venue with practically perfect sound.

The members of Chicago's The Redwalls, range in age from 20-22, but their sound is mature beyond their years. Saturday night at the Rave, they provided off-the-wall music that had many craving more.
