Before he officially announced he was running for president, for example, Walker's clearest statement about foreign policy was that he was perfectly capable of taking on the militant Islamic group ISIS after he stood up to Wisconsin's teachers. Crazy. But now that he's in the race for real, he's getting more outlandish with his foreign policy pronouncements. And, if possible, crazier.

As the cliché goes, those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. Or perhaps, Gov. Walker wants history to repeat itself. I suspect he does. It's the history of his idol, Ronald Reagan, that is illustrative here.

When I worked in a traditional newsroom, for daily newspapers, television and radio news, we had a dead pool too. It wasn't meant for betting, but it was for taking the time to be organized, gathering the assets needed to cover the passing of someone important or notable in the community.
