Becky Vinz is a 24-year-old aspiring photographer who grew up in Horicon and currently pours at Bomb Shelter, 1517 S. 2nd St. She says it reminds her of small-town taverns that she visited as a kid with her parents, which is exactly what owner Greg Landig was going for.

As much as the signature "brown bottle," Schlitz -- in its heyday -- was known for its "Tall Boy" cans, providing thirsty beer drinkers with 24 ounces of the brew that made Milwaukee famous. Now, almost two years after the "retro" formula Schlitz returned, the Tall Boys (16 ounces this time) have, too.

I respect those who like to live it a little when it comes to beer selection. But just because I like the "macro brews," I don't need a beer snob's attitude.
