Quest cards help local, low-income people
For decades, low-income people paid for their food with a ticket-like tender called "food stamps." Today, the stamps have been replaced with Quest cards. More than 148,000 people in Milwaukee have a Quest card, and although they are not required to, most grocery stores accept them. Some, however, do not. We wondered why.

Milwaukee's best market, 2008: Milwaukee Public Market
As passionate as they are about dining out, OnMilwaukee.com readers love to prepare food at home and they have a number of great markets at which to shop. The contest for "Best Market" could not have been much closer, but Milwaukee Public Market prevailed in a tight race over Sendik's.

Like a lot of Milwaukeeans, we were thrilled when we heard Midwest Airlines' famous chocolate chip cookies could now be made right in our own homes thanks to a frozen dough available at local Sendik's shops.
