Jerry Kramer retired from the Green Bay Packers and the National Football League in 1968 with five NFL Championship and two Super Bowl rings. Behind him, Bart Starr scored the winning touchdown in the Ice Bowl, and Paul Hornung ran into legend. So we now know that 2012 won't top 2011 in terms of sports greatness here in Wisconsin. What had started out as a year with such promise ended with the barrage of miscues on the turf of Lambeau Field on Sunday. With the Packers early exit from the NFL playoffs, there will be no magic carpet ride down to Indianapolis in two weeks.
But that's okay.
Writing year-end "best of" lists is easy, and writing 2012 New Year's resolutions is even easier. After all, it's not very challenging to opine about what we would like to see. It's much trickier to predict the future.
