Today is the one year anniversary of the saddest day of my life. It was one year ago that I learnwd that Terry Evans, a dear, dear friend and a well-known judge on the United States District Court of Appeals was going to die in just a few hours.

I hate to have to write back to back posts speaking about remarkable Milwaukeans who have passed away. On the heels of the deaths of my friends Gus Stankovic and Dave Cannon came the stunningly sad news that Terry Evans died after a short fierce battle with a lung disease. My heart is as heavy as a lead balloon right now.

It might be surprising to call Terry Evans a sportsman but sports were his life. The Court of Appeals Judge died suddenly last week of a lung disease that ravaged him in less time than it takes for a field goal or a home run trot around the bases.
