The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater was down 18 points to Cabrini College with about 13 minutes left in the NCAA Division III championship game on Saturday night in Virginia, and turned to a freshman from Kenosha to start the rally. The Warhawks would win 63-60, their first national title since 1989.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball program won the NCAA Division III men's basketball national championship Saturday night with a 63-60 comeback victory over Cabrini College. The victory highlighted a weekend of NCAA championship appearances by athletes from the University of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
