This summer, Walker's Point will put on a new jacket; one initially intended for the East Side. Blue Jacket Bar will open at 135 E. National Ave. in July, according to Laura van Heijningen, who will own the place with her husband, Tom. The van Heijningens were initially eying a location on Murray Avenue on the East Side, before settling on the space that, until last Friday, housed the Triangle Bar.

Once again, The Bomb Shelter was voted as the top drinking destination in this near South Side neighborhood. With its brewing memorabilia decor and classic Milwaukee beers the Bomb Shelter pays homage to the city's brewing history while also stocking an incredible selection of beer.

From the outside, Shaker's is not unlike many of the bars that line 2nd Street. Inside, though, patrons find themselves transported to a completely different time and place - surrounded by some unique company, if they're lucky.
