Boren finds literary inspiration in Cudahy youth
“Girls in Peril” is the story of five Cudahy girls on the brink of their teenage years and author Karen Lee Boren -- a Milwaukee area native -- says her debut novel couldn't have been set anywhere else.

Curran's novel traces Milwaukee's heavenly heathens
In her new book "Whores on the Hill," Colleen Curran exposes the inner workings of the girls behind the skirts. Curran grew up in Milwaukee in the '80s, learning the ropes of adolescence at the last all-girls Catholic high school in town.
