Doug Johnson will have his first gallery show, called "Adoption At A Glance," on Gallery Night next month. The exhibit visually tells the challenging but rewarding story of adoption through Johnson's lens. The show will include 20-30 photos in black-and-white, color and sepia depicting the everyday life of the twins.

Ten years after meeting his biological mother, Mike Zimmer organized a showing of her - and her husband's - work. The event takes place at Translator Milwaukee, 415 E. Menomonee St., on Friday, Jan. 17 in conjunction with Gallery Night.

After honing their craft on local stages, husband and wife duo Kim and Mark Albrecht have just released their debut CD, "Simple Life," as Wild Violets. The record captures the Albrechts' rootsy yet ethereal acoustic music layered with poetic lyrics and Kim's shimmering voice. Craig Juntunen's personal experience with adoption led him to take a closer look into the process. What he found unnerved and motivated him to voice his concerns across the nation with "Stuck," a feature-length documentary he produced through his Both Ends Burning Campaign. The campaign facilitates adoption reform dedicated to stopping the decline of adoption and the ensuing increase in orphaned and abandoned children.
