Summerfest has announced two more headliners for 2013. Rapper Pitbull will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on Sunday, June 30. Country artist Luke Bryan headline the amphitheater on Wednesday, July 3 with special guests Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line. Alice Cooper will also play at the Big Gig.

Garric rallies the music troops in support of Barbee Montessori

The world is full of beautiful, unexpected collisions. Take for example the upcoming "After School's Out" benefit concert at The Hotel Foster on Friday, March 22. The show, organized by Alice Cooper bassist Chuck Garric and his better half - and OnMilwaukee.com contributor - Lindsay Garric was put together to raise money for Lloyd Barbee Montessori, a Milwaukee Public Schools Montessori program housed in the former Garden Homes School on 24th and Teutonia.

I arrived at my desk this morning to find a little gift from Milwaukee band Jimmy at the Prom. The hard-hitting local rock (with a capital R) quartet has a blood red-vinyl 7" out with two tracks recorded at the Riverside Theater. The platter marks the emergence of the first material - namely "Escape" and "Fist of Doom" - produced by Chuck Garric.

Maiden melts Milwaukee

Thirty years and nearly 100 million albums sold since their first Summerfest gig, the Dickinson-fronted, mighty Iron Maiden returned to Milwaukee for another sweaty, molten-metal sing-along for the ages with 13,000-plus raucous fans at the Marcus Amphitheater on Wednesday night.
