Buell seeks 'home-track advantage' at Road America
When Erik Buell founded the sport bike company that bears his last name in 1983, many industry insiders -- not to mention many of Buell's close friends -- wondered if he could be successful in a business dominated by Japanese manufacturers. "People said I was crazy," Buell, a former privateer racer and bike designer, said in a recent phone interview from his office in East Troy. They aren't saying that now.
