The cleverly named American Euros cart hit the streets of Milwaukee in July 2009, and has been going strong ever since. A brick and mortar shop opens today at 3133 N. Oakland Ave.

By no means am I a "foodie." However, I do believe that I have a decent "working man's" palate and that I can easily discern between McDonald's and Kopp's. Here at OnMilwaukee.com, we're delighted to see all sorts of new vendors pop up on the streets of Brew City. From pizza to pitas, crepes to tacos, the hungry lunch (and bar time) crowd has more options than ever.

Remember back in June when I told you about Streetza, a giant pizza oven on wheels from which proprietors Scott Baitinger and Steve Mai sell it by the slice at bar time?

They're known as the "hot dog hotties," but they're not selling hot dogs. Like the late-night Downtown hot dog vendors, Mark Miller and Chad Mydlowski sell hot food to the hungry masses from a small cart. Only, rather than wieners, they're pushing gyros.
