During the mid-century, Ambassador Hotel, 2308 W. Wisconsin Ave., was one of the most cherished venues for high society weddings, gatherings and travelers. But when the '70s and '80s rolled around, the hotel deteriorated until 1995, when it underwent what became a 10-year, $14 million renovation.
