Brewers roster has a balanced look
Only 10 players on the Brewers' current roster were on the 2008 National League Division Series roster. Considering the nature of baseball today, the turnover isn't that surprising. But combining the veteran experience of Randy Wolf, Greg Zaun and LaTroy Hawkins with the youth of Alcides Escobar and Carlos Gomez around an established core could be a key to success in 2010.

Predicting the biggest events of this decade
We're 31 days away from 2010 and in the coming weeks, news magazines will begin to debate what events dominated and shaped the first decade of the 21st century. Hardy traded to Minnesota, Brewers get CF Gomez
As expected, the Brewers traded shortstop J.J. Hardy. Somewhat surprisingly, though, the team didn't bring back pitching for the 2007 National League All-Star, instead getting Carlos Gomez from the Minnesota Twins.

A question of loyalty: What do fans owe franchises?
It's easy to be a fan during the good times. Bandwagons bustle when teams win. What about the lean years? Our teams ask us for support and in exchange they owe us expertise and effort and an honest striving for victory. Most fans can live with losing, as long as they feel that the effort is genuine. Is rooting for the home team part of our civic duty?

Saturday Scorecard: Athletes get hungry, too
In honor of dining month here at OnMilwaukee.com, we kick off this edition of Scorecard with an item about athletes and food. Just before training camp, Bucks rookie point guard Brandon Jennings indicated that he likes to hang around Bayshore Town Center, in part because he loves eating at The Cheesecake Factory. While hardly surprising, that revelation struck a chord. One of the more common questions we get asked at Saturday Scorecard headquarters is "Where do players like to go to eat?"
