Viva delivery!
I have done just about everything in a restaurant from serving, bartending and expediting to washing dishes and mopping floors, but I have never been a delivery driver before, so I boldly determined to go where I had not been before; quite literally in some cases: I spent a few nights moonlighting as a delivery driver for a local restaurant.

All right, I know a lot of people do not want their kids to eat the things we did as children. Mouthfuls of turf, raindrops on our tongues, and does anyone remember that book, “How to Eat Fried Worms” (Thomas Rockwell; Random House, 1973)?

Calories be damned; it's Thanksgiving!
Pre-Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of year as we all gear up to stuff ourselves with turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberries and just about every other kind of fixing you can fathom. This year we will eat our way through the Thursday of Thanks with friends and family in a glorious feast and fete of gluttony.

Capitalism eats another small business owner
How do you define the line between capitalizing and expanding on an already successful business and retaining the unmatched qualities that made your business successful to begin with? And is it fair for me, as a customer, to even question such things? I want all local, small business owners to be successful, but at what price?
