Play it again, Sam: Inside the MSO and Riverside's showing of "Casablanca"

The Riverside's distant past will become the present as the legendary theater will play host to two screenings of the beloved 1942 classic "Casablanca" Friday and Saturday night. And to complete the blast to the past vibe of the event, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra will perform Max Steiner's famous score alongside the movie.

Popular Middle Eastern restaurant, Casablanca, 728 E. Brady St., is currently undergoing a major renovation project. Owner Alaa Musa says construction crews are working "around the clock" to have the massive undertaking finished in time for Brady Street Festival, July 28.

For the second year in a row, Tulip, 364 E. Erie St., ran away with the title, taking nearly 40 percent of the votes. The 4-year-old restaurant offers a wide variety of lamb, chicken and beef entrees as well as seafood and pasta dishes.

Once again, Brady Street's Casablanca, 728 E. Brady St., takes the top spot in the best lunch buffet poll, though it edged Maharaja -- which finished third last year -- by a single vote. It was tight face for us in the editorial office, too. We love them both.
