Milwaukee's best Mexican, 2009: Botanas
Given that Milwaukee has a thriving Mexican community -- and dozens of great Mexican restaurants to boot -- it takes something special to run away with the readers' choice for the best of the best. Botanas, however, did just that, taking the prize for the second straight year.

Food Network's Fieri finds Comet and Cempazuchi
Back in February, Milwaukee ex-pat Kris Ausan, who works as a researcher for the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," hosted by Guy Fieri, contacted me to ask for some suggestions. Last week, Fieri came to film at two area restaurants.

Cempazuchi continues to charm
It's been some time since we checked in with Cempazuchi, the southern Mexican restaurant on Brady Street that remains a Milwaukee favorite. If there was any doubt about its popularity, they were laid to rest when we visited at almost 9 p.m. on a recent Wednesday night. Most of the restaurant's tables were full and hungry folks kept coming through the door.
