Bondy returns to Milwaukee ... with backup
For a lot of Milwaukeeans, the A.A. Bondy awakening took place when the former Verbena frontman performed a solo opening set for Bon Iver last August at The Pabst Theater. Bondy appeared at Club Garibaldi this summer and returns to play a full-band show Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Gig roundup: Green River Ordinance gets grassroots support
It was a long way to go, but Fort Worth quintet Green River Ordinance got there in a short period of time. The band's name refers to the colloquial name for laws banning door-to-door sales. So it's ironic that a groundswell of support led to an opening slot for Bon Jovi in Dallas just a couple years after the band recorded its debut in its church basement.

On the town in Milwaukee: Falling back into the music scene
We all like a good concert. Laid back or hyped up, nothing beats the intensity of a live show. But what if you don't want to make a whole night of it? What if you're looking for a less expensive show that you can hop to at the last minute? What are the Milwaukee small scale options? Let's take a look.

Sound-off: Who serves the hottest wings?
Few foods complement an icy cold beer like a basket of wings. In Brew City, lots of taverns and restaurants have these finger-lickin' good bar fare favorites on their menu, and many are very tasty, but we want to know who has the spiciest wings in the city?

Gig roundup: Decemberists roll into the Riverside
If you notice that the guy on your volleyball team or the girl in the next cubicle is smiling a lot this week or has a spring in his/her step, you may want to ask the following question: Are you going to see The Decemberists? The pride of Portland visits town for a sold-out show Friday night at the Riverside Theater and the anticipation is growing for fans -- particularly those who witnessed the band's previous visits at The Pabst.

An irregular regular
Maybe it's because of "Cheers" or something, but I always kinda thought it would be cool to be a regular at a bar. Not a sad, always-drunk, pathetic regular, but one of those folks who pops in a few times a week, never needs to order because the bartenders always know what you want and feels right at home among all the familiar faces.
