West Bend's Lithia Beer - which once had the tagline "The Beer That Made Milwaukee Jealous" - was founded in 1848. In 1999, Gunter Woog, who was born in Germany but moved to West Bend in 1952, bought the trademarked name and recently partnered with Sprecher Brewery to reintroduce the beer.

Pourman's, the first bar in Milwaukee where patrons can tap their own beers, recently opened on Water Street in the former Fitzgibbons' Pub, 1127 N. Water St. Owner Ben Hebl says he was first introduced to table beer tappers while living in the Czech Republic where he played basketball for two years in a European league.

I believe I've mentioned that I'm somewhat of a workaholic, but one job or 10, we can all agree on one thing, sometimes work just sucks. Yesterday was one of those days, but instead of heading home I decided to try my luck one more time and see if a few cocktails could at least bring me out of my foul mood and cloud of self-loathing.Â

It's not as popular as pool or darts, but shuffleboard definitely has a loyal group of players. Numerous local bars have shuffleboard tables - some manual, some electric, some free and some coin-or-dollar-operated.
