Second traveling beer garden tour added for 2015

After the success of last year's traveling beer garden - selling more than 35,000 beers, nearly 6,000 sodas and 2,300 root beer floats, in the process raising almost $250,000 toward improving Milwaukee County's parks - County Executive Chris Abele announced today that a second traveling beer garden tour will be added for the upcoming summer season.

For the first time since the 1800s, a traveling beer garden will soon be making the rounds - and undoubtedly serving up a few - throughout Milwaukee. Sprecher and the Milwaukee County Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture have teamed up to bring the fire truck-turned-suds slinger to a total of six parks throughout the summer, starting June 4 with a stop in the Root River Parkway South Picnic Area 1.

Kevin Lederer has a licensing agreement with Glendale's Sprecher Brewery and opened three Sprecher's restaurants / bars in 18 months. There is one each in Madison, Wisconsin Dells and Lake Geneva. Lederer says a future Milwaukee Sprecher's is a "no-brainer."
