Sunday Sound-off: Is Summerfest teen-friendly?
Summerfest is, primarily, a playground for adults. Much of the music appeals to fest-goers in their 20s, 30s, 50s and 50s and, for a lot of people, it's all about the beer. Children have plenty of options, too, but what about teens? Is there enough for them to do at the Big Gig?

Surprise! These teens are tuned in
This election, like many Presidential races of the past, is mired in controversy. With both sides contradicting each other and reckless claims flying across the board, it's hard for young, inexperienced voters to know where the candidate's stands on all the issues. Curious to find out what young voters believe about each candidate and even more, what each candidate actually stands for, I talked to two young voters and did some research of my own.

Are today's teens tuned in to politics?
Following in the footsteps of the Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, who recently texted the name of his running mate to his supporters, I decided to use texting to perform a highly, un-scientific social experiment and find out what teens think about the upcoming election.

Kissing dating goodbye?
Everyone has accepted dating as the norm. Everyone except for Joshua Harris, that is. Harris is a Christian author, who wrote a book a couple years ago called "I Kissed Dating Goodbye."

I gotta be home by when?
Teenagers love the nighttime. We're known for our love of staying up until an ungodly hour. But while we may do it often, it isn't always legal.

Summer stories: An escape from the norm

Restrained Freedom? Teenage Driving Today
This past Thursday, July 12, I joined millions of other teenagers in becoming a driver. The first time I went out to drive, I felt a freedom I hadn't quite felt before. I decided whether or not to go the speed limit, and I decided where I went. It was exhilarating.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T: What it means to me
Teenagers these days have little respect for anything, but we as teens have to realize that as soon as we hit college or our first big job (or any job for that matter) we have to respect and follow the rules, check our attitudes at the door and do exactly as we're instructed.

I.D. needed to shop, but not to vote?
I'm not here to argue the pros and cons of Mayfair's new I.D. policy. But, I can't help but wonder why an 18 year-old now has to show an i.d. to shop but still doesn't have to vote for any elected office in our City or Country.
