With input from her husband Jordan and sister Sarah, Brooke Boomer envisioned a place where friends and family could mix and mingle, enjoy a glass of wine and maybe learn a thing or two in the process. And so that's exactly what they created.

Jill Didier says she never intended being mayor of Wauwatosa, or of any city for that matter. But when she became involved in politics as an alderwoman two years ago, she quickly realized there was much more she should be doing for her community. Taking office in April 2008, Didier continues the 16-year tradition of female mayors in Wauwatosa.

The Wauwatosa East High School marching band makes its way across the pond in order to play London. The band was invited by the Queen to be the Honor Band for this year's New Year’s Day parade.

Tucked away on a quiet one-way street in downtown Tosa is a little café that has been serving patrons for years. What was once La Boulangerie became Nova Cena in 2003 and, as of last Thursday, is called One-Way Café and Gallery.
