OnMilwaukee.com sets new traffic record in October

OnMilwaukee.com, Milwaukee's daily magazine and city guide, announced today that it set a new site traffic record during the month of October. Traffic rose to 386,937 unique visitors, according to Google Analytics. This figure is up nearly 53 percent from October of 2010, when the site received 253,068 unique readers.

No doubt many of you have heard some version of the joke about Wisconsin only having two seasons: winter and construction. People still let the occasional - and understandable - gripe loose, but for the most part, we do the proper thing: suck it up and deal. For all the supposed tolerance we have for this condition of our commute, though, we as drivers seem to have an awful time playing nice on the roads when the orange barrels come out.

This week the Milwaukee Common Council's Public Safety Committee voted 4-1 to recommend adoption of an ordinance that would make permanent a program allowing residents who live in or near Downtown and on the East Side to park for five days consecutively on city streets without fear of tickets or towing.
