Last month, Lowlands Group, which runs Cafe Benelux, two Cafe Hollander locations, Cafe Centraal and Trocadero - tapped Wisconsin native Wilhelm Borgstrom as culinary director for all its restaurants. Now that he's launched a new menu at Benelux and done a research trip to Belgium, we caught up with Borgstrom so that we can all get to know him a little better.

Café Benelux, 346 N. Broadway, in the Historic Third Ward, should be open the second week of June. Construction continues inside and out on the building that's owned by the Milwaukee Public Market.

The battle for Milwaukee's top Brady Street area bar has been a knock down drag out fight since we started polling readers. But one of the oldest bars in town, Wolski's Tavern, somehow managed to claw its way back to the top to become OnMilwaukee.com readers' top Brady Street area bar for the second year in a row.

The smoking ban went into effect last July, and a lot of bar owners thought they would have to take measures to accommodate outdoor smoking. Most bars put ashtrays outside if they weren't there already, and some took it a step further.
