Milwaukee musicians lend support for childhood cancer
In January, the Milwaukee music scene joins together to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer at The Pablove Benefit Concert. Including sets from Fever Marlene, The Gufs, The Lackloves, Maritime, Mike Benign, Old Man Malcom, Pet Engine, and Truth in Fiction, the show pays homage to Milwaukee native Jeff Castelaz and the fight his son Pablo waged against cancer.

Video of the Day: Alejandro is back in town
Alejandro Escovedo, who has been a popular figure in town since his visits to Gil's Cafe on Downer Avenue, performs tonight at Historic Turner Ballroom. Escovedo last visited Milwaukee in September, when he opened for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Harley-Davidson's 105th reunion. Here are a couple videos to get you warmed up for the show.

All of these things combine to make for a memorable evening or, alternately, a bad experience. The editorial staff of OnMilwaukee.com sounds off on its favorite rooms in Milwaukee for listening to -- and seeing -- live music.
