The United Performing Arts Fund calls the arts an "economic engine" for the city. About 6,000 people are employed in the arts in Milwaukee, and that comes out to about $100 million in annual wages. Is Milwaukee sufficiently funding the arts?


Walker's Point Center for the Arts names new director

Walker's Point Center for the Arts (WPCA) named Ana Melo as its new executive director. Melo, who started on Aug. 10, grew up in the Walker's Point neighborhood. She is a bilingual community leader with a history in the arts, youth programming and nonprofit sustainability.
