After slow start, "Batman Begins" delivers a zap pow!
What the last couple of Batman movies lacked in energy, "Batman Begins" more than makes up for, keeping the dialogue funny and believable, and the action tight and engaging. If "Batman Begins" is the final episode of the saga, at least it goes out with a bang, pow, zap!

Dark and heavy, "The Machinist" succeeds on plot
A complex plot line is not an easy thing to pull off skillfully. Although Brad Anderson's "The Machinist," starring an alarmingly thin Christian Bale, is by no means perfect, Anderson and screenwriter Scott Kosar have crafted a masterful storyline.
