Music adds to soundtrack of noisy election season
Music is adding to the soundtrack of already noisy presidential election. Some artists, like Bruce Springsteen (pictured) and Hank Williams, Jr., are endorsing candidates. Others have been bickering that political operatives try to create the appearance of endorsements by playing music at campaign functions.

The Beastie Boys have announced selected tour dates, with special guests, in election battleground states. A Sunday, Nov. 2 show at the U.S. Cellular is one of the first three shows announced today.

A punk legend is gone; Hilly Kristal dead at 75
Kristal, who died in Manhattan on Tuesday of complications from lung cancer at age 75, launched CBGB's in 1973 and in doing so helped spark the New York punk scene that centered around his club until its recent closing.

"American Hardcore" acknowledges Milwaukee
"American Hardcore" arrives in Milwaukee soon and there was an advance screening at the Downer Theatre. Although the Midwest hardcore scene gets about five minutes of coverage, Milwaukee's Dan Kubinski -- of Die Kreuzen and Decapitado -- is featured in a pair of interview snippets and a quick burst of live D.K. coverage.
