The way we see the world is all a matter of perspective, of point of view. Take, for example, the Milwaukee Theatre. Whenever I go inside, I rue the loss of the Auditorium's arcaded interior. On a recent tour of the both the Milwaukee Theatre and the adjacent Arena -- which I may always call the Auditorium and MECCA Arena (sorry, I can't stop myself) -- I was surprised to see how much of the auditorium remains in place.

The news of the Rolling Stones and Ringo Starr coming to Milwaukee brings up memories of the `60s debate in which people were relegated to being a Stones fan or a Beatles fan. I got the connotations then about the inherent differences, but I loved them both ... and still do. That's why a great way to celebrate the Stones announcement with a little bit of Beatles pleasure would be a trip to Kohler this weekend.

While the Beatles might have initially seemed like a band of brothers, Beatles tribute Yesterday and Today is, in fact, a family affair. Inspired by their dad's passion for the Fab Four, Billy, Ryan and Matthew McGuigan formed Yesterday and Today, which performs three nights, Feb. 7-9, at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts' Vogel Hall.
