For the many dozens of times I've visited the historic Pfister Hotel - for meetings, meals, weddings and drinks - until prepping for OnMilwaukee Hotel Week, I never spent an overnight at this Victorian masterpiece. Cross that off my bucket list - and I didn't even have to meet a ghost to do it.

It's been five years since Blue on Greenfield opened in West Allis. The smoke-and-gift shop, located at 7223 W. Greenfield Ave., underwent a couple of big changes since firing up sales in late 2009.

Six months after her abducted dog, Briggs, was returned, Tricia O'Malley authored a book about the harrowing experience. She - along with Briggs and her other dog, Blue - will be at Boswell Books on Friday, July 12 at 7 p.m.
