I quite enjoyed the "Garlicmeister" last time, but I'm pretty sure I'm now partial to their $9 "Baconmeister" meal. With 1/3 pound of Angus beef, topped with bourbon bacon, onion, lettuce, tomato and cheese (I opted for cheddar), it's the brioche bun that makes the difference to me. It comes with homemade chips or fries and a drink.

Flapper's tributes the '20s and '30s in theme, but the new kitchen offers contemporary food items including lightly breaded cheese curds and vegetarian sandwiches. But meat eaters, don't fret, there are also plenty of burgers, including a four-patty "home run burger."

Not long after moving Downtown, I visited Port of Call for lunch and had a good experience. Fast forward a couple years, after interviewing Chef Adam Pawlak, I headed back over to try some items on the new menu.

If you've stopped at Curly's Pub in Lambeau Field recently, you may have sampled the Aaron Rodgers burger. USA Today did a piece on it this week. The burger I got at the Ovation was incredibly good. A high-class ground Angus patty with a crisp and well-seared outside and a nice pink and hot inside.
