Get your laughs out of the way now: I've waited a very long time to see Burton Cummings live. The Guess Who is one of my top 10 bands, and while I reviewed them in Waukesha in 2007 the only original member was bassist Jim Kale. The most dynamic part of the Guess Who, lead singer Burton Cummings, wasn't with this veritable tribute band, replaced with a sound-alike stand-in.

Some years, Summerfest seems to take OnMilwaukee.com Publisher Andy Tarnoff's summer concert requests and deliver them to Milwaukee, and some years it doesn't. This year it doesn't. But that's OK. He knows that Summerfest wasn't scheduled exactly for him, and over 11 days, there are plenty of picks Andy can wholeheartedly recommend. Here they are.
