Sean Henninger, who owned Times Square Pizza / Atomic Chocolate in Walker's Point, opened Redbar's kitchen and developed the menu. This was unexpected for Henninger, who was scouting locations to reopen his pizza and chocolate place when co-owner Carrie Wisniewski offered him the chance to create food for Redbar.

Yesterday, Carrie Wisniewski, co-owner of Redbar, had Wisconsin's first IntoxBox installed at her St. Francis bar. The IntoxBox is a freestanding, digital breathalyzer about the size of a jukebox that reads a person's blood-alcohol content (BAC) and helps determine if he or she is safe behind the wheel.

Recently, Redbar opened in St. Francis. The space, which formerly housed Majdecki's and later, Cool Waters, has been remodeled inside and out. It's now aptly painted red and the interior is a tribute to aspects of Milwaukee history, from vintage beer signs to sports bobble heads to an antique motorcycle license plate.

Carrie Wisniewski and Nick Schell plan to open red.bar in mid-to-late July in the St. Francis space that was formerly Cool Water and before that Madjecki's.
