"Star Trek" returns to TV with new streaming CBS series in 2017

Next year - on Sept. 8, to be precise - "Star Trek" will celebrate its 50th anniversary, and from the sounds of it, it is not wasting the occasion. We already knew that a new movie, "Star Trek Beyond," was coming out next summer, but today, a report from StarTrek.com announced the anniversary will also bring about a brand new TV series, the first since "Enterprise" went off the air in 2005.
