Step on to the threshold of Milwaukee Art Museum's gallery 10 and prepare to step back in time. As part of a triptych of exhibitions celebrating 125 years of history, the museum has re-staged this familiar gallery, to conjure its predecessor, the Layton Art Gallery, which stood at Jefferson and Mason Streets from April 1888.

Imagine you're organizing an exhibition of art that you've never seen in person before. That'd be a little risky, right? Now imagine curating an exhibition of art which doesn't even exist yet. That's exactly what Milwaukee's Chipstone Foundation embarked upon last spring when it sent a video invitation to 18 artists, asking them to participate in what would become "The Tool at Hand," currently on view at Milwaukee Art Museum.

The green movement is nothing new, but that doesn't mean there aren't those of us still waiting for the right time to jump on board. The Milwaukee Art Museum says that time is Jan. 30, at its first Green Fair.
