According to a report from Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service, the Milwaukee Common Council's decision to lower the maximum fine for marijuana possession of less than 25 grams to $50 has drawn praise as a first step to reducing racial disparities in enforcement of marijuana laws, as well as criticism for its potential to increase marijuana use.

The City of Milwaukee has reduced the penalties for first-time possession of marijuana from $500 to $50. Pot is still illegal. A strip club is perfectly legal but the aldermen appear willing to get nailed for an almost $1 million judgement after losing a lawsuit. Doesn't seem to make much sense.
