People's Books Cooperative started moving today from its East Side location to Riverwest today and will open in July. The independent bookstore cooperative is leaving its current location, 2122 E. Locust St., and moving to 804 E. Center St. in the former Tool Shed space.

People's Books Cooperative, 2122 E. Locust St., has been selling books for a long time. It became a community-owned cooperative in 2007, but previous owner Chris Chiu opened the progressive bookseller on Farwell Avenue in 1974.

This year the Wisconsin-born Organic Valley celebrates its 20th anniversary and its "family of farms" is 1,239 strong, with members across the country and in Canada and products available at food cooperatives, natural foods stores and supermarkets nation wide.
