We think it's very simple: there is just nothing better than a summertime farmers market in Wisconsin. It's a chance for our local growers to show off their goods, while consumers get a refreshing break from the corporate supermarket. Throw in some live music, fun crafts, fresh flowers and clean summer air, and you've got yourself a homegrown good time.

The Blue Tomato Cafe, 2215 E. North Ave., will soon open inside the Clock Tower Building, just east of Jalisco's. The plan, at this point, is to open on Oct. 11. Mizu opened on Wednesday, Sept. 15.
