Two years before the 72-acre subdivision was platted in 1925, newspapers carried advertisements placed by landowner and seller Wisconsin Land and Realty Exchange boasting of Gale Crest Park's unique-ness. The proposed merger of 68th Street School with nearby 81st Street School has been on our radar, as you've likely noticed if you follow what I write about Milwaukee schools. The issue is an important one. Folks across the city are watching to see how this plays out. Future enrollment in the district may not be affected not simply by how it ends, but also by how it is handled by MPS.
