What this town needs is a good sports controversy
It's always nice to have a winning team in town. When the Brewers made the playoffs last season, it lifted everyone's spirits. When teams aren't good, though, you need to find excitement in other ways. Without controversies, the sports world can be a pretty boring place.

Saturday Scorecard: Bucks caught in a tough spot
By overcoming injuries and playing well after the all-star break, the Bucks raised the hopes of their diehard fans and began to spark interest among casual observers. Now that the team seems to be running out of gas, that might not be such a good thing.

NLDS Notebook: Patience pays off for slumping bats
Discipline and patience haven't been hallmarks of the Brewers' offense this season. Against Philadelphia lefty Jamie Moyer, those two virtues paid off as the Brewers rattled off 11 hits and stayed alive in the National League Division Series with a 4-1 victory at Miller Park.
