Milwaukee's best Middle Eastern, 2009: Casablanca
What began as a family-owned restaurant on Mitchell Street evolved into a Brady Street emporium of Middle Eastern delights. Following in their parents' footsteps, brothers Alaa and Nasser Musa opened the second generation of Casablanca, serving traditional kabobs, falafel, stuffed grape leaves and shawarma.

Playing favorites with falafel
When my fiancé and I met, he was living in Chicago and I was here in Milwaukee, a situation that sometimes made for long, lonely weeks, but that also opened the doors for a dual citizenship of sorts when the weekends rolled around. The start of each new week brought with it the choice to remain in Brew City or hop the Megabus down to the Windy one.

Shahrazad scores with new vegetarian lunch buffet
Shahrazad Middle Eastern restaurant opened almost 15 years ago, but it only recently added a daily vegetarian lunch buffet.

Yummy lunch at Yaffa
I urge everyone to get out of the office for an hour to grab some lunch and take a stroll on Milwaukee's beautful Rverwalk while the weather is still nice. The rejuvenating effects are innumerable. I'll just save you some time and tell you the best place to eat - Yaffa.
