Recently, four Milwaukee creatives opened the Cocoon Room, 820 E. Locust St. The goal of the group is to provide artists and musicians a space to share and sell their work as well as provide educational outreach to the community.

As an early taste of its upcoming second full-length disc, Milwaukee band Well Informed Citizens has issued a CD single to ring in the new year. "Leaders of the Revolution" is a rough-edged, hard as nails song that has found the perfect mate in WCGV-TV (Channel 24 in Milwaukee) show, "Wisconsin MMA Today." The song will be the theme for the show, which airs Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. through February.

Everyone has a favorite holiday. For some it's Christmas, others Thanksgiving, but for me it's that summery time of year in Milwaukee. You guessed it, Summerfest. All right, maybe I'm a little too excited about all this and yes, I know it's not actually a holiday, but then again, maybe you're just not excited enough.

Last week Fresh Cut Collective frontman Kiran Vee released a beat tape called "A Tribute to Roy Ayers" under the name Bellse Soneek.
