After taking three straight from the Astros, and the opener of a three-game set at St. Louis Monday afternoon, the Brewers' lead in the NL Central is back up to 10.5 games and their magic number for clinching the title is down to 11 games. All in all, it's hard to argue that things are pretty good these days.

When the Brewers summoned Jonathan Lucroy from Class AAA Nashville last May, they weren't looking for offensive help. Starting catcher Gregg Zaun was lost for the season with a shoulder injury and the team needed somebody to share time behind the plate with George Kottaras. Lucroy went on to play 75 games for Milwaukee, finishing with a respectable .253 average, four home runs and 26 RBI. Not bad for a rookie who began the season in Class AA, but as far as Lucroy was concerned, the numbers were completely unacceptable.

The Brewers spent $30 million to lock up Randy Wolf but so far, the investment hasn't paid off.
