Milwaukee author and historian Dave Luhrssen's latest book, "Hammer of the Gods," tells the story of Germany's Thule Society and how it figured into the birth of Nazism. Published in hardcover by Potomac Books, the work began as a dissertation at UWM.

Many of you know Dave Luhrssen for his decades of chronicling Milwaukee music. But Luhrssen also does double duty co-authoring books on a number of subjects, rooted in his undergrad and graduate history degrees from UW-Milwaukee, where he has also taught. His latest explores Elvis Presley's impact on American music and society in the 1950s and '60s.
