Major League Baseball has done a nice job of turning its draft into an NFL and NBA-style event. It's also become "more important" for organizations who choose to stockpile talent and take advantage of the fact that drafted players are "under control" for years. But in reality, it's still a crapshoot and often includes more misses than hits.
